It started in 2017. A warehouse. A long shift. Boredom.
Benjamin discovered motion graphics — then Canva — and started doing what most people don't: sharing what he learned, for free, every week, with no plan.
No funnel. No course. Just one tutorial after another, posted into the internet hoping someone, somewhere, would find it useful.
People did. Then thousands of people did. Then a community formed. Then Canva itself took notice and named him a Verified Canva Expert and Community Lead for Africa.
Today, African Geek is 139K on Instagram, 50K on YouTube, 622+ tutorials deep, and home to over 2,000 designers building careers and businesses with Canva — most of them in Africa, all of them welcome.
