Terms of Service

Last updated: 31 May 2025

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using African Geek (theafricangeeks.com), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please stop using the site immediately.

These terms apply to all visitors, subscribers, and anyone who submits content to the site.

2. Use of the site and tools

African Geek provides free tools (Pricing Calculator, Invoice Generator, Client Email Generator, Color Palette Generator, Brand Kit Planner, etc.) for informational and creative purposes only. These tools are provided "as-is" without any warranty of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose.

  • The Pricing Calculator provides suggested rates only. Use your own judgement for your specific market and clients.
  • The Contract Generator and other legal-adjacent tools do not constitute legal advice. Consult a qualified professional for legal matters.
  • Invoice Generator data is processed entirely in your browser and is not transmitted to or stored on our servers.

3. Designer Showcase — user-submitted content

When you submit work to the Designer Showcase, you agree to the following:

  • You own it. You confirm that you created the submitted work and hold all intellectual property rights to it. You must not submit work that belongs to another designer, client (without permission), or third party.
  • You grant us a display licence. By submitting, you grant African Geek a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display your work and profile on theafricangeeks.com and our social media channels for the purpose of promoting your work and our community. You retain full copyright.
  • We may remove it. We reserve the right to decline, remove, or moderate any submission that violates these terms, contains plagiarised work, or is otherwise inappropriate — without notice.
  • Attribution. We will credit your name and Instagram handle as provided in your submission. We will not edit or crop your work in a way that misrepresents it.

To report a submission that you believe infringes your copyright, see Section 8 (Copyright & DMCA).

4. Community guidelines

African Geek is a space for African creatives to learn, grow, and be celebrated. We expect all community members to:

  • Treat others with respect — harassment, discrimination, and hate speech will not be tolerated
  • Only share work that you own or have permission to share
  • Not use our tools or platform to generate harmful, deceptive, or illegal content
  • Not scrape, copy, or bulk-download content from this site
  • Not impersonate another designer or misrepresent your identity

Violations may result in your submissions being removed and access being restricted.

5. Our intellectual property

All tutorials, blog posts, tool designs, graphics, and branding on African Geek are the property of The African Geeks and are protected by copyright. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or create derivative works from our content without express written permission.

You are welcome to link to our tools and content, share our articles with attribution, and embed our videos (via the official YouTube share function).

6. Third-party links and services

African Geek contains links to third-party websites (Canva, Instagram, YouTube, Paystack, etc.). We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of those sites. Links are provided for your convenience only.

Some links on this site are affiliate links (particularly for Canva Pro). We may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you if you sign up through our link.

7. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, African Geek and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — this site or its tools.

We do not guarantee that the site will be available at all times, error-free, or free of viruses. We are not responsible for any loss of data, revenue, or business opportunities arising from your use of our tools.

We will investigate and remove infringing content within 14 business days of receiving a valid notice.

9. Privacy

Your privacy matters to us. Please read our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect and use your personal information.
